Christ Presbyterian Church desires to minister to our church family as well as Nashua, the surrounding communities, and the global church. We encourage our members to meet together regularly for fellowship, study, prayer, and service. If you’d like to be involved, please contact an elder or deacon. CPC is blessed to have many children as part of our congregation! We have two children’s Sunday School classes that meet at 9:15 a.m. each week, one for kids up to fifth grade and another for kids in sixth grade and above. During our Sunday morning worship service, we provide children’s church for kids in preschool and elementary school. Volunteers use a provided curriculum that lays out what to teach and the activities to do for the lesson. We also provide a nursery for babies two years old and younger. In addition, there is a crying room available at the back of the sanctuary for parents with babies and small children. Kids in 5th through 8th grade meet for youth group twice a month. Children aged 12 and up also assist in the nursery and children’s church and help in the service by passing the offering plate and reading scripture. There are several discipleship and prayer groups meeting currently. If you’d like to join one, please contact an elder. Our women’s prayer group meets weekly on Thursday mornings, and women’s Bible study meets weekly on Fridays (on break for the summer). There is a men’s Bible study that meets monthly. Adult Sunday School meets at 9:15 a.m. every week and is currently studying J-Curve: Dying and Rising with Jesus in Everyday Life by Paul E. Miller. Other examples of things we have studied in the past include: the Westminster Confession of Faith, global missions (using Dispatches from the Front), and various books (like How the Nations Rage by Jonathan Leeman). CPC’s small groups are family-friendly, and children are welcome. There is usually a potluck dinner and fellowship, followed by study and prayer. In these groups, we work out how to apply God’s word to our lives. We currently have two small group meeting on Friday and Sunday evenings (on break for the summer). We gather regularly for meals, conversation, and fun. Every other month, we have a potluck church luncheon after our worship service. During the summer months, we have church picnics at members’ homes or local parks. We are located across the street from an ice cream stand, so we meet there after services once a month while the weather is nice. Our congregation also enjoys game nights, baseball games, the occasional hike, and other activities. CPC serves others by ministering in our community and partnering with organizations in our region and the world. If you’d like to volunteer, pray for, or financially support any of these organizations or missionaries, please contact a deacon for more information. We are involved in the local community through volunteer work at Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire, an organization committed to ending homelessness one family at a time. We support ministries throughout New England as well, including: CPC is also involved in global missions by supporting several missionaries and missions organizations. Jason Wakefield, our former pastor, co-founded Global Equip, and through that organization, CPC sent him to Sierra Leone, Haiti, Nepal, South Africa, and Bulgaria to teach and train local leaders. Church members ministered with Global Equip in Haiti and have also participated in missions trips through the PCA’s Mission to North America and Mission to the World organizations.
