Though Adam broke the covenant of works and plunged humanity into a life of sin and misery (which is separation from God), our faithful God made a covenant of grace to redeem us through Christ to a life of joy and fellowship with him.
The Easter message is not just for Easter. The resurrection is relevant for any Sunday.
The power of Christ’s resurrection brings those who are united to Jesus into a full life both in the present and future.
Jesus came and brought his salvation for us in glorious triumph at great cost to himself. He did this so we could live lives that continually cry out “Hosanna!”, “Save us, we pray!” And we can know that Jesus has brought us salvation both in the present and in the future.
Jesus is not just a great teacher, but he has authority and power because he is the Holy One, the Son of God, the Savior of the World (the Christ).
Jesus is full of grace for those who recognize their need.
Jesus, as the true Israel, resists the temptation to reverse the role of man and God and submits to God because he trusts God and knows that he is loved. By the Spirit, we can too because we trust him since he has proved his love to us in Christ.
Jesus, as the true Israel, empowered by the Spirit, refusing to exchange the glory and majesty of God for a lie and instead putting God’s purpose for him first.
Jesus, as the true Israel, empowered by the Spirit, trusts in God’s provision and because we have his Spirit, so can we.
Because Jesus was historical, fulfilled the OT promises and prophesies, and is the Son of God; we can put all our trust in him instead of ourselves.
