Jesus invites us to experience an entirely new life.
Jesus not only has the authority to forgive sinners, but he came to earth to forgive notorious sinners and restore them to God.
Jesus exercises his desire and authority to restore a broken, lonely, and desperate humanity as they exercise humble faith in him.
Jesus authoritatively calls his disciples and us to be a part of his rescue mission. We were made for something bigger than ourselves. And when he calls us, we have no choice. We follow and obey.
Jesus is full of grace for those who recognize their need.
Jesus, as the true Israel, empowered by the Spirit, refusing to exchange the glory and majesty of God for a lie and instead putting God’s purpose for him first.
Jesus, as the true Israel, empowered by the Spirit, trusts in God’s provision and because we have his Spirit, so can we.
Because Jesus was historical, fulfilled the OT promises and prophesies, and is the Son of God; we can put all our trust in him instead of ourselves.
Jesus is the Christ who was promised, who perfectly pleased God in all that he did, and so the Father poured out the Spirit upon Jesus to enable him to do his ministry of reconciling us to God.
The message of the coming judgment of God is good news to those who mourn over their sin and embrace the reality that Jesus lived, died, and rose again to cleanse us of our sin and make us a holy people.
